Late this afternoon, like any other, I walked into Baby Sister's room upon hearing her awake from her nap. But as I neared her crib I was filled with horror at what my eyes beheld. Poop. Smeared all over the sheets in multiple locations. A small pepple that could only have been the remnant of something that had once been much larger. My first reaction was that her diaper had leaked or that she'd had a blow-out up the back but upon closer inspection I realized that her pants were spotless. Then the realization hit me...the only possible explanation was that Baby Sister had put one (or both) of her hands down her diaper. Ewwww! But wait, it gets worse. Baby Sister, who is still lying down, is sucking on her thumb. Great. Super. Fabulous. Bring on the E. coli. I plucked Baby Sister out of her crib, transported her directly to the bathtub and began scrubbing hands and under fingernails with abandon.
