Beach-y Babes

Tonight we met up with other wonderful families for another picnic dinner in the park. Funny thing though, it's awfully hard to get any of the
kids to sit down and eat anything much less dinner. My Girls just wanted to coax the ducks and get their feet (and ankles, knees and
bums) wet. Knowing full well that this park was on a lake, I forgot the Girl's life jacket. Bad Momma, I know. Even worse, Baby Sister doesn't
even have a life jacket. Gonna have to change that. And quick. Cause it was all we could do to keep Baby Sister out of the water. Until we gave up and decided upon very close supervision. It was at this very same park in April of last year that she put her tiny little feet in the pebbly-sand and lake water for the first time ever. She didn't enjoy it nearly as much back then as she did tonight. You know that it was serious business for a Girl who
eats nearly as much as the rest of us at mealtimes to pass on dinner in favor of splashing in the cold, clear, crisp water. I love this photo because all of my Girls are represented - Baby Sister (and her shadow), the bump that is Baby Miss in my shadow and the Girl's shadow sandwiched inbetween. Already so in love with the thought of my three Girls. Sisters. Best of friends. Our lives filled to overflowing with
shades of pink, dress-up clothes, princess shoes, sugar and spice. Oh a lot of spice, for sure.

Baby Sister ventured out too far and was none to happy about being brought back in by her Daddy. And no, he doesn't normally dress in such attire for a picnic dinner but he's in full-time training mode (for a triathalon and 200-mile bike ride) and pedaled his way to the park.
And as if the lakeside scenery wasn't beautiful enough, this big fella graced us with his presence circling in the blue sky
just above us for most of the evening. Spectacular.
Then it was home and straight to the bathtub to shake the sand out of tiny clothes and wash the lake water off of cold little bodies. Followed up by some thumb-sucking snuggled nice and warm in a cozy blanket.
