New Do

This morning the big Girls and I went in for haircuts. As soon as we stepped over the threshold of the salon the Girl made a beeline for the books of example haircuts/styles in the waiting area. She then proceeded to select half a dozen 'new looks' for herself before settling on one that hasn't already been vetoed by me. This is nothing new. It's been her routine for a while now. She seems to gravitate toward the more outrageous styles. The kind that you'd see on a model walking the runway for some couture designer to match her equally outrageous outfit. Once she even broke into tears after I told her that we couldn't crop her hair close to her head, perm it into a mass of tight curls and color it carrot orange like the style in the book. Not kidding. So today when she asked for bangs I couldn't deny her. It was a relatively tame request after some of the other styles that I'd already said no to. And the pink, well that was just for fun. Not for reals. I did some photo editing cause I knew she'd like it and because it's the closest thing she'll come to actual pink hair in the next 12 years! And then there is Little Sister. She's a lot like me. After looking through the same books as the Girl she asked our
stylist to "just cut it a little bit longer." Ha, ha! She likes to stick with what she knows.

Cookies, Cookies, Cookies!

This is what we've been doing. Delivering cookies. And eating cookies. Please note: most people would say that Thin Mints are the most popular Girl Scout Cookie. I beg to differ. Samoas bested the Thin Mints by an entire case in the Girl's pre-sale orders. And I think the Girl has a very skewed view of what Girl Scouts is all about...so far she thinks that they sell cookies and that is all.

Daddy Daughter Dance

Tonight was a highly anticipated night in our household - the night of the annual Daddy-Daughter dance put on by our local Parks and Recreation department. The Girls love this special night with J and the chance to get all dolled up. This was the Girl's 4th consecutive year, Little Sister's 2nd and the 1st for Baby Miss. They came home full of stories to share and are already looking forward to going again next year.

Daa-deeeeee!

I love this. My Girls waiting for their "Daa-deeee," (as Baby Miss says) to get home from work. It doesn't happen often that they
are all in the same place at the same time and what a welcome to come home too! I might be envious of the adoration except that I'm extremely blessed to have a hubby that works so hard so that I can be at home with them. He deserves the jubilant welcomes and every ounce of adoration.
My second favorite scene of the day - this.

Sunshine!

The sun was out today and we just had to replenish our vitamin D. We walked down to the store for some milk and a treat to fuel our trek back home which is all uphill. By the time we made it back someone was fast asleep and looked so sweet and peaceful.
