New Do

This morning the big Girls and I went in for haircuts. As soon as we stepped over the threshold of the salon the Girl made a beeline for the books of example haircuts/styles in the waiting area. She then proceeded to select half a dozen 'new looks' for herself before settling on one that hasn't already been vetoed by me. This is nothing new. It's been her routine for a while now. She seems to gravitate toward the more outrageous styles. The kind that you'd see on a model walking the runway for some couture designer to match her equally outrageous outfit. Once she even broke into tears after I told her that we couldn't crop her hair close to her head, perm it into a mass of tight curls and color it carrot orange like the style in the book. Not kidding. So today when she asked for bangs I couldn't deny her. It was a relatively tame request after some of the other styles that I'd already said no to. And the pink, well that was just for fun. Not for reals. I did some photo editing cause I knew she'd like it and because it's the closest thing she'll come to actual pink hair in the next 12 years! And then there is Little Sister. She's a lot like me. After looking through the same books as the Girl she asked our
stylist to "just cut it a little bit longer." Ha, ha! She likes to stick with what she knows.
