Baby Sister loves to read. Mostly the Girl's books. She shows no real interest in the stack of board books that have bright, colorful pictures and little to no text. Nevermind that some of those board books also make noise or include other sensory opportunities like small patches of different textured fabric. Just give her words. Although we may want to get her eyes checked.
Saturday we went to a birthday party for the sweet little neighbor girl three houses down. It was held at an indoor playground and Baby Sister was seriously digging the slides. Here we are in the play area for the 3-foot and under crowd. I lost count of how many times we went down these slides. We'd cruise to the bottom and Baby Sister would head straight for the stacked blocks which she'd crawl up to get to the top
again. Eventually she tired of them and so we sought out the bigger, bumpier slides. This picture is very poor quality but I love that it captures
all three of us and the way that the Girl's hair is flying. Here are the Girl and the Birthday Girl sliding in tandem. Regretably, I have no pictures of the Girl and the fully enclosed, black tube slide with the major drop. At the beginning of the party, it was all J could do to coax the Girl to go down it with him. She eventually did, then later had worked up enough courage to go down with the Birthday Girl. By the time we left she was going down all by herself with the Birthday Girl no where in sight. That a Girl!!
