Desperate Housewife

No, not me....but her.

This evening as I peeked in on the Girls playing I saw this. And I immediately thought that Baby Sister, in her little dress and a princess cell phone in her hand with the Girl's glass slippers at her feet looked like a sassy little desperate housewife - in training. Obviously, definitely not what I aspire for her to be. What she is, right now, is barely a baby on the verge of becoming a toddler. She speaks just a handful of words: Daadaa, Momma, baby, woof, chez (cheese), whee(which is used when she's riding on anything) and "Baa!" (Which is a deer call that she picked up from her Daddy.) but she understands far more. Communicating with a shake of her head for "no" and nodding up and down for "yes." She also points when she wants something as she did today when she pointed at shiny, black patent leather mary jane shoes while exclaiming, "Uh, uh." and then pointing at her feet. Though not yet walking, Baby Sister has accomplished all of the necessary physical prerequisites. She can get to standing on her own, although when she realizes what she has done she always lowers back down to her knees in a very slow and controlled fashion, she scrambles along the furniture and walls with ease and is a quick-stepper when she has hands to hold onto. Yes, it is a fine line that Baby Sister is "walking," between that of a baby and a toddler.
