Here is the Girl on Monday morning, ready for her first day of Pre-K but apprehensive at the thought of a new teacher and a different classroom. Especially since she loved her teacher from last year and looked forward all summer to having her again this year. But it was not to be. A few weeks ago we were informed that the teachers had to be shuffled due to unexpected enrollment and that Mrs. D would not be teaching the Pre-K this year. When the Girl found out she was upset and it showed on the first day of school as she clung to my leg with tears in her eyes and told me that she didn't want me to leave. Quite a change from last year when J and I helped her to find her seat and then she asked us to leave. Once I left though, she quickly settled into her seat and began coloring while I stealthily peeked through the windows from outside. Now, three days later and the first week of Pre-K is already in the history books. It doesn't quite seem possible to me that at this time next year she'll be in kindergarten. Sniff, sniff.
