Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

The Girl was so excited to wake up and discover a thin layer of snow on the ground. In observance of Martin Luther King Day there was no
school (nevermind the fact that it would've been cancelled due to the snow anyway...even a light dusting in these parts is enough to shut classes down) so after a quick breakfast, she hurried to get her snow clothes on and get outside. Lil Sister was much more reluctant and was completely content to enjoy the snow from the warmth of the house. She must get that from me! Both Girls thought it was hilarious to have a one-sided snowball fight of sorts, with the Girl aiming them at the window and Little Sister
anticipating the blow, flinching and then dissolving into fits of gleeful giggles after impact.

While all that was taking place, out in the yard Baby Miss got her first taste of sledding and was bundled in so many layers that it was nearly impossible for her to move.
She just lay on the sled while J pulled her around. Not sure if she liked it, but it must've been ok as she didn't fuss.

As her mobility was hindered, thanks to all of the layers and the puffiness of her clothes, we were able to set Baby Miss in one spot and not worry about her getting into trouble.

But with a little leaning and some oomph, she was able to get to her belly and then crawl, albeit she looked like a polar turtle - slow and steady.

And look who finally decided to come out and play!

They tried really hard to take me on a ride around the yard...we didn't get far. I offered to take Lil Sister on a ride instead but she quickly declined.
So we had a little snowball fight instead.
And it wasn't long before the Girl was able to coax Little Sister onto the sled. Once she was on there was no looking back! The forecast calls for more snow overnight and school has already been cancelled for tomorrow. Hmmm...I see more sledding and snow play in our immediate future.
