One of the many great things about this summer - which by the way, is going by entirely too fast - has been our Wednesday picnic dinners in the park. Every week families from our
church gather at a designated park, bringing with us our own picnic dinners. We enjoy the inevitable camraderie of trying to get our children to actually eat dinner before heading off to play. More often than not, we lose the battle and the rest of the evening we manage bits and pieces of conversation here and there before there is an interruption or we are all sent scurrying in different directions after stray children. This week it was the 
splash park and the lure of the water was just too much - nearly impossible to get the kids to eat anything at all. Except of course the popsicles from the ice cream truck.
