Newborn Photos

When Baby Miss was just 5 days old we got newborn photos taken. We've done it for each of the girls. In those first few days and
weeks of adjustment - the sleepless nights, the frequent feedings, the loads and loads of tiny laundry - time is fleeting
and in the blink of an eye that tiny 6 pound 3 ounce baby will be but a memory as she grows from newborn to infant, infant to
toddler, toddler to kindergartner. It is important to me to have photos of their lives in those first few wondrous days...they
are only tiny once. With each of the Girls we've used a different photographer. With the Girl we hired a gal fresh out of college and just starting her business. She came to us armed with nothing more than her camera and a white sheet. Her photos were simple and the quality was good. Her price was terrific and we got to keep all the negatives. With Little Sister we ended up in a studio located in the heart of the nearest big city with a photographer who was in high demand and had the
prices to prove it. The images were great and the quality superb but we ended up spending an outrageous amount on
a handful of prints. I think this time around, with Baby Miss, we finally got it right. The photographer has a small
studio that her husband built next to their house. Nothing high-end or fancy, just clean and simple, suited perfectly to
serve it's purpose. As for the images...they speak for themselves. I love the subtle backgrounds, the rich textures of the blankets, the props and the way that she sweetly posed my baby all the while keeping her asleep (with the exception of that first photo which was actually taken toward the end of the session). She is self-taught and I think her talent is a.maz.ing! For less than a third of what we paid for Little Sister's newborn photos we got digital files of our favorite images so that we can print them when and where we like. I cherish the photo of my three girls together as I am rarely able to snap a photo of the bigger two both looking at the camera at the same time. And Little Sister's pose in the photo - the perfect posture, hand in lap, feet crossed - that was all her. She did that all on her own with no direction from the photographer. Hmmm...supermodel in the making? Oh and did I mention that it's a small world?! The photographer's husband graduated the same year I did from a rival high school and then went on to student teach at my high school.

Oh my word, these are AMAZING! The one with the brown hat and her little lips pursed...adorable. And you look wonderful! The pic of the three girls is a true treasure.
