For the past couple of days the Girl has been asking about having a sleepover with Little Sister. She wanted Little Sister to sleep in her bed with her. Since I'm fairly certain that there is no way Little Sister would stay put in a bed without rails I agreed to allow the Girl to sleep in Little Sister's room. So last night we inflated the air mattress and after our typical bedtime routine settled them both in, turned out the lights and waited. Waited to see what would happen. Waited for the Girl to come out and say that she didn't want to sleep in the dark (she likes to have a small lamp left on in her own room). Waited to hear little voices chattering softly. We waited and...nothing. Just silence. However, when I finally went to bed around midnight I found the Girl cozily snuggled under the blankets of her own bed. And you know your mind is elsewhere when you strap

your 23-month old into her Big Sister's booster seat as I did this morning. I was totally unaware of what I was doing despite the questioning look on Little Sister's face as I strapped her in. I only realized what was going on after I walked around to the other side of the car and asked the Girl why she wasn't in her seat yet and buckled up. She looked at me like I was totally insane - and apparently I was, if only momentarily. Then it was as if my eyes came into focus and I could clearly see what the Girls were seeing. Oh we all had a good laugh!

Too funny and only because I do almost the same thing all the time. I am famous for buckling in Max and then jumping in the driver seat ready to go before Chase who is sitting in his chair proclaims...MAMA, I am not buckled yet! Where is my brain!!
