Oh this one, she gets me. Hardly a dull moment with her around. The other day as we were in the car on our way to pick the Girl up from school I saw something that made me start to recite the flag salute, "I pledge allegiance," "to the flag," Lil Sis chimed in and I was dumbfounded. We don't say the flag salute around home ever and unless the Girl has been teaching it to her from behind closed doors, I have no idea where she learned it. But indeed, she does know it. As I continued with the rest, I would say a few words, pause and she would finish the phrase. Not always with the exact words but close enough for a 2 1/2-year old. My favorite part, "and justice for you!" Now that I think about it, maybe she learned it in BSF (Bible Study Fellowship) because she put a lot of emphasis on the "under God," part. Then today she saw a U.S. flag, pointed to it and said, "Look Momma, to the republic!"
