Music to my ears!!

I've waited patiently for months, ever since this itty-bitty started saying, "Daadaadaa." She says it repeatedly, all the time - when she's happy, when she's tired, when she's hungry. I've longed to hear it, especially when she's tired, reaching for me and crying, "Daadaa, Daadaa." No doubt I've coached her on many an occasion, but never with any results. Then, last night as it was nearing bedtime with J holding her, she reached out her arms to me and very clearly wailed, "Maamaa!" In an instant my heart swelled!! She's not said it since, but once was enough...for now.

It was not the only milestone I was treated to yesterday. In the morning I asked her for a kiss and as I puckered up she came in for the proverbial open-mouthed baby kiss. So sweet! Just to make sure it wasn't a coincidental incident I asked for another and she again opened her mouth wide and planted a wet one on me. About half a dozen kisses later I decided to pass the sweet goodness around and took her to J and the Girl for kisses. By the time we'd finished she was pushing our faces away almost certainly thinking, "Good gads people, enough already!!"

And this is her baby. When it's time for a nap or bed I take her up to her room lay her in her crib, hand her this baby and she immediately snuggles up to her, sticks that left thumb in her mouth and closes her eyes (unless of course she's being subjected to yet another camera flash!!)
