Dance, dance, dance!

The Girl loves to dress up, turn on music and twirl about the house. She was enchanted by the Nutcracker...and so, today was a much anticipated day in her life. Today she had her first dance class. The class, for 3 and 4-year olds is called Creative Movement and focuses on 'helping the students gain control of their bodies in the creation of shape, line, jumps and leaps. They work with rhythm and music to develop self expression and prepare for classical ballet.' At the beginning of class the Girl was timid but she quickly warmed up and soon she was intently following the teacher's demonstrated moves and instructions. It was easy to see (the huge perma-grin was a dead giveaway) that she was enjoying herself immensely. Immediately after class the Girl was insistent that we pick up a blue leotard and pink footless tights, which she put on as soon as we got home and spent the rest of the night in.
