A certain little someone in our family has been waiting {and not so patiently, I might add} for a long time to go here. Not that we haven't been here before. But last year they started clearing a lot in a location not 20 minutes from our house and when we discovered what was going to be built there I don't know who was more excited, Little Sister or J. For the past six months or so she's been asking the question, "Can we go to Cabela's?" The pleas have become more urgent in just the past few months as the exterior of the building was completed and the signage went up. In her young mind, the building was done therefore the store should be open. Ah, if only it was that simple. We promised her that she would be there on the day that it did open. That day was today, 11:00am. If I only knew...that we'd have to park in a huge gravel lot down the road and take a shuttle. That the line would be three wide zig-zagging from the front of the store through the parking lot to the perimeter parking in front of the store down around the corner and past the building. That once inside our personal space would be compromised. But we promised her. Truth be told, it wasn't as bad as it first appeared. The shuttle bus was fun for Little Sister. The line added to her anticipation and moved rather quickly {we were inside within 15 minutes} and rubbing elbows inside was always met with a friendly, "Excuse me!"

Of course we were only there to see all the animals. It's almost better than the zoo. And for all Baby Miss knew, they were alive.

She waved and said, "Hi!" to every animal that she laid eyes on.

It was an impressive array of wildlife.

This little guy was among my favorites.

And of course I love an intimidating Cougar. I was in awe of this fella as he was positioned with just one paw on the tree branch and I could see nothing else aiding in his mid-air suspension.
