We spent one morning riding horses on the beach with friends. The Girl was super-excited to be sure and Lil Sister was too, although I was afraid that she'd have an entirely different reaction when it came time to saddle up. We're never quite sure these days what will freak her out and what won't. The idea of riding a horse and actually doing it are two very different things. Baby Miss

stayed back with Grammy and Poppie but she enjoyed some up close and personal time with one of the horses.

The Girl got to ride all by herself and was thrilled. Her horse's name was Earnhardt.

J and Lil Sis atop Bea, whose baby followed along.

Look closely, nope, this isn't Lil Sis - it's the Girl and I when we took the same horseback ride in the summer of 2007. When I pulled up this photo I was a bit stunned by how similar they look. And I had to laugh that their hair is done
exactly the same way, even parted on the same side. Nope, I didn't plan it that way, in fact I haven't seen this photo in years.

Now look at her, all grown-up and riding solo. Earnhardt enjoyed straying off trail to nibble the tall sea grass.

Both Girls had so much fun, even enjoyed the part when the horses worked up to a trot on the beach. J was hoping to gallop but

the guides informed him that he was on the wrong ride for galloping. They only do that on the early morning ride. Always

thinks he has to be going fast.
